❓ How many Pocket nodes are required to bootstrap a blockchain network/shard?

50

❓ How long must these bootstrapped nodes be maintained?

Until a Minimum Viable Network (MVN) is achieved:
If the shard achieves but then starts to fall below these targets, the Pocket nodes will need to be re-bootstrapped.

❓ Can multiple shards share the same bootstrapped nodes?

Yes

❓ How are Shard Members determined?

Shard applications will be opened to all Community Members 5/21/22 in the Pocket Network Discord. Onboarding will tentatively begin 6/1/22.
Community Members will denote a Shard Organizer to submit an application on behalf of the working group. Qualified individuals are also encouraged to apply to work either directly with the Pocket Network team or be connected with other qualified shard members. You can read more about the application process here:

If multiple applications for different shards are received simultaneously, we will help support their launch in concurrency.
When a full application for a new shard is received, or multiple applications for the same shard are received, a call will be put out to the Community to provide a window of opportunity for other shards to apply. The final decision will be determined by the experience of the shard members and the quality of the shards' proposed growth strategy.
